We have a big and exciting week ahead with our tri-meet in Oroville on Wednesday and our 50th Durham Dolphins Invitational this weekend at our pool!

This Week’s Practice Schedule

Mini Dolphins
Mini Dolphins will have regular practice Monday–Thursday this week.

• Group A: 4:30–5:00 PM
• Group B: 5:00–5:30 PM

Friendly reminder: there is no Mini Dolphins practice on Fridays.

Blue, White & Red Groups
Blue, White, and Red Groups will have regular practice Monday–Thursday this week.

• Blue Group: 4:30–5:00 PM
• White Group: 5:00–6:00 PM
• Red Group: 6:00–7:30 PM

Wednesday, 6/17 — Durham/Corning/Oroville Tri-Meet
We will be competing in the Durham/Corning/Oroville tri-meet this Wednesday, June 17, at the Oroville pool.

For swimmers who are registered:

• Warm-ups: 6:00 PM
• Meet starts: 6:30 PM

Coaches will go over meet details with swimmers this week.

50th Durham Dolphins Invitational — This Friday–Sunday
We are so excited to host our 50th Durham Dolphins Invitational this weekend at our pool!

Friday

• Warm-ups: 4:00 PM
• Meet starts: 5:00 PM
• Pizza meal available

Saturday & Sunday

• Warm-ups: 7:30 AM
• Meet starts: 9:00 AM
• Food trucks: Sippie Hippie, Kona Ice, Habanero Taqueria, and Ranch Hand

A huge thank you to the many parents and family members who have already signed up to volunteer this weekend. Hosting a meet this size takes a lot of helping hands, and we truly appreciate everyone stepping in to make this event possible.

There are still volunteer spots available for anyone who needs hours or would like to help. The weather is looking great, and it should be a fun weekend to be part of a very special event for our team.

What to Look Forward To at the Invitational
This is going to be a great weekend of racing, team spirit, and Durham Dolphins tradition for our 50th year!! Some highlights to look forward to:

• Great racing with awesome teams from around the Northstate
• Concessions
• Fine Designs custom T-shirt vendor
• A superb silent auction!!!
• A spectacular Father’s Day raffle - $1 per ticket, $20 for arms length
• A competitive, supportive, and fun swim environment at our favorite pool ;)

First-Time Meet Families — What to Expect & Bring
Swim meets are fun, busy, and full of energy. There is usually downtime between races, so it helps to come prepared.

Helpful items to bring:

• Suit, cap, and goggles (extra goggles and cap if you have them)
• Towels
• Sunscreen
• Warm layers or a parka for between races
• Chairs or a blanket for your family. Shade, if needed
• Activities for kids during downtime

Label everything with your swimmer’s name. Swim gear can look very similar, especially during a busy meet weekend.

When you arrive, help your swimmer check in, and listen for event announcements. If you are volunteering, please check in for your assigned shift at the Volunteer popup. Coaches and volunteers will help guide swimmers through the meet.

Dolphins Dash Fundraiser — Coming Next Week
Our only team fundraiser of the year, the Dolphins Dash, is coming up next week!

Packets are available at practice for swimmers to pick up. During the Dolphins Dash, swimmers collect pledges or donations and then swim as many laps as they can during the event. It is a fun way for swimmers to challenge themselves while helping support the team.

This year, swimmers who swim 10 or more laps will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win an electric scooter at the end of the season! (Shout-out to the Collins Family for the scooter donation!). There is also an award for the swimmer who brings in the most donations.
