🏊  NVALS Recap

The Durham Dolphins wrapped up their season with a hard-fought victory at the North Valley Aquatic League Championships! The lead swung back and forth all weekend—up by 20, down by 100—against the spirited Orland Otters. But in the end, our Dolphins prevailed with a final score of 2486.5 to Orland’s 2375.5.

Our coaches believe the turning point was the now-legendary 6 & Under Sacrifice on Saturday—thank you, Carter and Keoni! (If you haven’t seen the cheer, check out the video on our Facebook page.)

We were also propelled by high point winners (top 3 in their age groups):

– Liam Edson (15–16 Boys)
– Ansel Clark (13–14 Boys)
– Kylie Collins (13–14 Girls)
– Luke Montz (11–12 Boys)
– Rae Collins (11–12 Girls)
– Marley Gray (9–10 Girls)
– Cadence Trujillo (8 & Under Girls)
– Carter Bartlett (6 & Under Boys)

Add in an 80% best times rate across the board and standout leadership from Coach Jillian Larabee, and it’s no surprise we’re celebrating a season to remember.
Great job, Dolphins!

🌊 Wave Makers

Blue Group
Rilynn Lynch has worked hard all summer which earned her a new "B" time in her 25 free at Championships. Rilynn always checks in with her coaches before and after she swims, always giving her best effort.
Riley Wood always has a smile on his face and a great attitude at practice. At NVALs, Riley achieved multiple best times, one of which was an impressive 20.66 second improvement in his 100 free.

White Group
Rae Collins is not only a hard worker in practice, she is a force to be reckoned with when she races. At Championships, Rae achieved personal bests in almost every race, and a 3rd place high point award for 11–12 seasonal girls.
Rory Gregg listens to his coaches each practice, working hard to become a better swimmer. Rory improved his times in most of his events at the NVAL meet, the most impressive of which was an over 40-second improvement in his 500 free.

Red Group
Kiley Collins had a rough start to the summer season, but she finished strong at Championships with a tie for 2nd place high point in the 13–14 girls seasonal division. Kiley achieved personal bests in almost every event and made a new "BB" time in her 50 free.
Liam Edson puts forth his best effort each time he gets in the pool. His hard work all summer resulted in best times in every event except one, and a 1st place high point for 15–16 seasonal boys. He always has a positive attitude and sets a good example for the younger swimmers to follow.
