Dear Dolphins:

I hope this note finds you well.  I have been tasked with delivering a bit of background.

As you may or may not know, Alicia Rock stepped down not long ago as President of the Dolphins (she also stepped away from many other organizations that she was involved with) to take care of her Dad, who had not been doing well.

It is with great sadness that I tell the team that Alicia's dad passed away a couple of days ago.  

I just wanted to let everyone know since both Alicia and her Dad loved the Dolphins and seeing kids start a life-long love affair with water and swimming.  Alicia worked tirelessly for the team and her Dad was a great supporter behind the scenes.

I know that the team would not be where it is today without them.  

So our thanks and condolences.  Godspeed to Chris Rock.
